Flyball

Ready for some fast paced action?!  The sport of Flyball involves 4 dogs on a team running as fast as they can up a line of 4 jumps to a box with a ball in it. The dog triggers the box, grabs their ball and races as fast as possible back down the line of 4 jumps. Once across the start line the next dog on the team runs, until all 4 dogs have had their turn. There are two lanes of racing at once and the fastes team wins that heat!

This class will begin teaching each piece of the flyball game.  Dogs will learn the four jump sequence, recalls for speed, passing drills, triggering the box, and proper turns on the box.

Dogs must be atleast 6 months of age to register for this class.
Class Information

*Dogs with aggression or reactivity are not suitable for a group class. If you have concerns regarding your dogs behaviour please let us know before registering for a group class.

So what does all this fun cost?

Payment is due at the time of registration.  6 week courses are $170 +GST, 5 week courses are $140+tax. We require 72 hours written notice of cancellation prior to the course start date to receive a refund. There will be a $15 refund fee to cover the paypal transaction fees.  Classes are non-refundable, non-transferable and there are no "make-up" classes.  You are encouraged to come out and watch a class before registering your dog in a program.  We are a positive training school, we use food and toys as rewards and motivators in class.  Choke chains and prong collars are not allowed.

Scent Hurdle Racing

Scent Hurdle Racing is a relay race very similar to Flyball.  The only difference is after racing up the four jumps, the dogs have to find a wooden dumbbell that was scented by their owner out of 4 dumbbells sitting in a scent hurdle box.  Once the dog has chosen the correct dumbbell the dog must then race back over the 4 jumps, across the start line so the next dog on the team can go.

This class will teach retrieves, scent discrimination, the jump patterns, passing drills and recalls for speed.

Dogs must be atleast 6 months of age to register for this class.
