Dear Kim,

I must say, I learned something new every class. You have a special way about you Kim.  You make everyone feel comfortable.  It must make you so happy to see all the doggies come into your building with big smiles on their faces.  That really says it all.  It lets you know your training techniques have earned you two paws up from the puppies. : )  Soon after starting Dakota's first class something clicked ( no pun intended LOL) and I understood him better.  It's a really special gift you are giving people and their dogs.

Kim,

Both Taboo and Dante loved taking your Agility Classes. It has made them both more confidant in and out of the show ring.

Taboo has now figured out how to get things off the counter without me hearing her and Dante knows how to squeeze his way through the baby gates considering he is not tiny. Enjoyed taking all the classes and will be taking more down the road.

Kim,

Daisy, our white Hungarian Puli, came to us in August, 2009 at the ripe young age of 2 months. As all puppies are, she is full of energy and excitement. As soon as we could, we enrolled her at Hyper Hounds, an awesome facility, not to mention really close to home.

Six months later, Daisy is calmer, more confident. She learned her commands in no time, and now she is much easier to control both indoors and outdoors.

Thanks Kim for helping Daisy become the best Puli ever!!!  Your are obviously a very experienced and caring dog trainer!

I recommend Kim and Hyper Hounds to everyone for that special dog that just needs some training for whatever issue or need.

I have known Kim for several years first as a fellow student in classes, as a judge at CARO trials, and as a trainer working with my three dogs. Her facility is bright and clean for comfortable indoor work in all seasons. She has helped sharpen my cues to be consistent so the dogs know better what I want from them for Rally Obedience. She has been especially helpful with my new fearful and reactive rescue dog, working on acclimatizing to new situations, having realistic expectations, and providing positive feedback. I highly recommend her as a positive trainer for any dog – puppy, household pet or a competitive team. We look forward to trying agility classes this spring.

Dear Kim,

Just a note to thank you for helping us newbies to start off on the right foot with our first ever dog Elsie. Not only are we learning what to do - but regular classes give us a reason to practice. Our friends and family have been impressed with the change in Elsie's behavior over the time we have been coming to your classes.

Thanks Again,

Hyper Hounds has been a very fun and more importantly positive place to take my dogs to "play". I always come out of the building with a smile on my face and feeling refreshed and as soon as my dogs see the drive ways they are rushing to get out of the truck into the building because they love it so much.

My name is Sangio. I am a 10 month old havanese who enjoys life and likes to learn and play. My owner knew I was keen to learn so he checked all the trainers and even met some of them before he chose Hyper Hounds. I am so pleased he found Kim at Hyper Hounds. I look forward to going there every week. You can tell by the way my tail wags on the way to my lessons. When I get to her facility (which is even good in -40 because it is large and heated) I jump out of the car and run straight to the door. You know, the place has this special rubber floor, so it is good on all my joints.

She is also good with my owner who also needs lots of coaching. She has the ability to be positive and make both me and my owner feel we are doing well. When we make mistakes or try and get away with things she corrects us in a positive way.

My owner says Kim is a good lister and understand the challenges human face when teaching dogs. She explains what to do clearly and helps my owner understand that I am a dog and how I think. Sometimes he forgets I am a puppy and need to be motivated and am still learning. She reminds him and helps set realistic expectations. This way we both have fun and I learn. It must be good because we are on our third set of lessons and we both still look forward to going there every week.

I guess the best proof of how good her school is that when we are at the park people always comment on how good I am. They ask how old I am and how many years I have been taking lessons. They are surprised that I am only a puppy because I drop on command, come when I am called, will stay for a long time even if I can’t see my owner and can even do this when there are distractions. I have also learned lots of agility and will learn more when I am full grown.

So if you want to have lost of fun with a good trainer in a great facility I strongly recommend Hyper Hounds and Kim. She will teach you how to be a good dog and have lots of fun. She will teach your owner how to be a good owner and get results.

Check out my pictures at Hyper Hounds facebook site and you will know all this is true.

Have fun

Sangio

P.S. Don’t forget, even with good lessons you must make your owner practice with you lots. Both of you will have fun and the learning will go better.
Kim,

Yogi ended up in your class by accident; a dog I was fostering was unable to make it to the CGN class at the last moment, so my dog Yogi ended up going instead. It was the best thing that happened for everyone – Yogi, and our family.

We adopted Yogi a couple of years ago when he was two. He became a decent family dog over time and was an excellent dog to help train foster dogs that came into our home. He was however, just an average dog, pretty good most of the time, but certainly not outstanding nor a “really great dog.”

The CGN course with Kim changed all that. Spending time formally training Yogi paid great dividends. This is a classic case of unexpected rewards. For example, his “wait” is most impressive. We can open the hatch anywhere – busy parking lot, beach – and Yogi will wait for his release command.  It is more of a pleasure take him places and in terms of safety, a relief that I can count on him to wait. Although I was the family member who took Yogi to class and really worked with him during the week, Yogi responded better to other family members’ commands before the course ended. Yogi became more focused and quicker to respond to anyone who handled him.

My only regret is that I “waited” two years to take him to an obedience course.

Definitely a pawsitive experience,

I first met Kim a year ago when I was looking for someone to help me train Jazz, my GSP, in agility. As soon as I took my first class with her I knew I had made the right choice. Kim has a genuine love and respect for dogs. She is very knowledgeable and has a true talent and a rare, natural gift for working with animals -- those on two legs, as well as four! She only uses positive reinforcement techniques, is patient, cheerful and confident and her methods work!

When I got my puppy Grace in the spring I enrolled her in puppy classes and we have just completed Novice Rally. The dogs and I always look forward to our training nights with Kim, now and in the future. She has done an amazing job teaching me and my dogs and is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

Jessie, a female Australian Shepherd, arrived at Hyper Hounds as a four-month old puppy, engines raring to go. Thanks to Kim and her amazing Hyper Hounds facility and classes, Jessie, now 10 months old, is a well-socialized and outgoing dog that faces every test like a hurdle to be cleared. Whether it was puppy class, instant recall, or agility training, Jessie arrived at Hyper Hounds with enthusiasm, confidence and outright happiness.  She recently passed her Canine Good Neighbour exam, a testament to the solid foundation put in place by Kim who knows how to bring out the best performance in every dog.
Much of this is because of Kim's philosophy of positive training, an approach that keeps a dog's spirit intact while getting the most from them. For Jessie, who loves a job, it has channeled her energy into positive activity. Kim has helped me as well, teaching me to trust Jessie's  natural instincts, to let her figure things out for herself, but without ignoring her need to listen to me.
I cannot imagine not having had Kim and her facility available for Jessie's first year. We both look forward to future classes in a space that is bright, clean, and kind to dogs' joints. Everything is geared for safety, from the footing to the equipment surfaces.
Jessie and I intend to continue taking classes at Hyper Hounds; if you are looking for guidance, problem-solving or just want to have fun with like-minded owners, I highly recommend Hyper Hounds.

Puppy kindergarten proved to be the best investment of time and money for our new Australian Shepherd puppy, Bandit.  Although we had some excellent experience with our former beautiful and well trained border collie Oreo, it was 15 years since we had a puppy and it was amazing how much we forgot!

Hyper Hounds provides exceptional training geared to helping your dog be well behaved in many situations and encourages the entire family to be part of the process.  This has been invaluable to have Bandit listen and respect every member of the family.

The training is both educational and truly fun, making it a weekly commitment you look forward to and eager to practice at home to achieve the best possible results….a wonderful dog that everyone loves to have around.
