Jade Robertson earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Calgary in August 2008. During her time in post-secondary she worked for a variety of pet businesses including: Windcrest Kennels, Country Club Pet Resort, Petsmart, Pet Planet and Calgary Humane Society. This diverse experience working with cats, dogs and a variety of other pets allowed Jade to practice her training skills, analyze animal behaviour in a variety of environments and practice her animal communication skills.
Pets have been a part of Jade's life since she was born. Raised in a home with cats, dogs, rabbits, guinea pigs, birds and horses she connected with her pets. She is an active foster parent for the Calgary Humane Society and has cared for over 30 animals in the past two years.
Jade is a professional member of the Canadian Association of Professional Pet Dog Trainers (CAPPDT) and a full member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT). She has worked with a variety of families and dogs of all shapes and sizes. She continues to learn by attending dog training and communication seminars whenever available. Recently she attended seminars with Kirsty Pearson CPDT, Susan Verhoogt and Brenda Goodbody CPDT.
There's has always been more to training dogs than simply obedience. All of Jade's dogs train and compete in agility. Jade and Russ have also visited several retirement homes for seniors. Russ brings a smile to their face with his antics, charisma and wonderful manners.
Jade is excited to work with all animals and can help you achieve the same bonds that she has been able to establish over the years.
Animal Training and Experience:
• Completion of basic obedience training with 4 of my dogs and 3 shelter dogs
• Completion of puppy classes with 2 of my dogs
• Completion of 12 agility courses with 2 of my dogs
• Completion of clicker training course
• Completion of animal behaviour and safe handling workshops at Calgary Humane Society
• 3 years of kennel experience working with dogs of all ages, sizes and temperaments
• 2 years working with the public and educating them about dog/cat behaviour
• 3 years as a foster parent for the Calgary Humane Society
• 1 year working in dog daycare
